‘Between wealth and poverty.’ This man is neither rich nor poor. As humans, when we do not have what we want, we must make do with what we have. In life, even if you have little wealth, you must make your assets work for you. Every day, many people in the world wake up without even 100 francs to their name, and yet are still able to find joy. On the other hand, many people in blessed situations compare themselves to those with greater wealth, and despair at their apparent lack of wealth. Therefore, happiness is not directly tied to wealth.
We should spend more time thinking of those less fortunate than us, be more grateful for what we have, and reflect on what can do what we can to support those who were not so lucky in the lottery of life.
IMPORTANT: This is painting has some small areas of damage, namely cracked paint, but as Aminou says, this simply adds value to the painting, giving it more of a rustic/vintage appeal. Like battle scars, they have meaning and show that these works have not had an easy life in a gallery - they are truly authentic and artisanal. As this piece is attached to a heavy piece of wood, which has a loop already attached, it is ready to hang up.
